IEWA 2026 – Silver
We’re very pleased to announce that following on from the success of our 2024 Bacchus our 2025 Bacchus also won a Silver Medal in blind tastings by a panel of expert judges in the 2026 Independent English Wine Awards.
What the Judges said:
A highly expressive and beautifully composed Bacchus, showing excellent varietal character, freshness and technical precision. The wine presents impeccably, with a nose of very good to excellent intensity and quality. Aromatically, it is vibrant and lifted, combining classic Bacchus notes of lime, lemon, grapefruit and gooseberry with more exotic hints of peach and passion fruit. Subtle lees influence adds a lightly creamy note, bringing an extra dimension without compromising the wine’s purity and freshness.
On the palate, the wine is clean with very good to excellent intensity and quality, delivering a bright and energetic expression. Citrus and tropical fruit carry through with clarity and precision, supported by lively acidity that gives the wine drive and focus. The fruit profile is juicy and refreshing, with a beautifully defined core and impressive varietal typicity.
Texture is a particular strength. Gentle lees influence contributes a subtle creaminess and mid-palate weight, adding depth and complexity while maintaining the wine’s vibrant character. Acidity is well integrated and provides a tangy, mouthwatering edge, which several judges felt enhanced the wine’s youthful energy and freshness.
Balance and overall harmony are excellent, with fruit, acidity and texture working seamlessly together. The finish is long, lively and persistent, carrying citrus and tropical notes with freshness and precision. Despite its youthful nature, the wine already shows impressive composure and polish.
Overall, this is a confident and highly accomplished Bacchus that combines aromatic intensity, freshness and texture in a beautifully judged style. It sits comfortably at the very top end of Silver level, with several judges considering it worthy of Gold.

General Pairing Guidance
Bacchus wines with bright acidity and floral aromatics work best with fresh, citrusy, herbaceous, or lightly creamy foods. Avoid heavy cream sauces, red meat, and strongly smoked flavours as they can overwhelm the delicate aromas of the wine.
